June 2016 Newsletter

6/15/2016

Dear Volunteers,

The Summer season begins with good news from Samaritan House. Eighteen new volunteers have joined our ministry, twelve of whom have been trained to serve our guests. Thanks to all who have assisted with recruiting efforts, and welcome to those who have joined our family! Another orientation/training will be held on Wednesday, July 13th at one o'clock for those who were unable to attend prior sessions, as well as any volunteers who would like a refresher. Please RSVP to samaritan.house.3@gmail.com

We are excited to introduce our new Samaritan House website at www.samaritanhouseofwellsboro.com.
The website is still under construction; pages will be added as time allows, and we hope to add more volunteer testimonies. Please consider sharing your experiences to inspire and encourage others.

Until we meet again, wishing you all a safe and happy summer!

My Mission, by Cardinal John Henry Newman

"God has created me to do Him some definite service;
He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another.
I have my mission—I never may know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next.

Whatever, wherever I am, I can never be thrown away.
If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him;
in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him;
if I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him.

He does nothing in vain; He may prolong my life, He may shorten it;
He knows what He is about. He may take away my friends,
He may throw me among strangers, He may make me feel desolate,
make my spirits sink, hide the future from me--
still He knows what He is about."
